PURPOSE:

To teach and train department members to effectively implement merchandising and sales plans. To coordinate merchandising activities to achieve quality presentations and follow through on all merchandising programs, and to instill a high degree of customer service / awareness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Teaches and trains store teams to effectively implement the merchandising and sales plans to include:

* Production, handling and packaging procedures to maintain quality product and freshness
* Stocking, display building, backroom standards, sales floor standards
* Selection and maintenance of product variety by store within category manager guidelines
* Implementation of plan-o-grams by store case layout and display support
* Implementation of stocking methods and price change procedures to ensure price integrity
* Implementation of in store coding policy of product to ensure customer satisfaction
* Order writing to achieve the desired product case / display presentation
* Case / display and equipment cleaning / sanitizing methods.

* Partners with store management and merchandising in:
* Providing timely feedback and escalation problems or issues preventing execution of plans.
* Developing effective plan-o-grams
* Effective ethnic merchandising assortments, selling situations, logistics and plan-o-gramming to create the best possible ethnic presentation.
* Optimizing operating and merchandising goals.

* Supports store department team members in inventory reduction, disbursement of product and overall control when closing stores.
* Supports store departments and cross-functional operations in:

* Implementation of merchandising programs
* Presentation and cleanliness
* Sales, Labor, and gross profit reporting
* Training and monitoring loss stores / loss departments
* Assists in opening new and remodeled stores
* Minimization of shrink
* Safety and sanitization procedures
* Instills a high degree of customer awareness and service with a goal of making customer s lives easier.
* Plans for the transition of major case / display resets to minimize loss of sales dollars and customer inconvenience in conjunction with Merchandising team.
* Ensures that basic and proper expense management techniques are employed in each department.
* Monitors competitor activities.
* Demonstrates actions and results biased toward achieving the company s vision, values and strategic imperatives. Assists in identifying associates with promotion potential. Fosters an empowered learning and high performance environment.
* Performs all other job duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* Dept. Manager, Assistant Store Director, Store Director experience required.
* Strong communication skills
* Proven supervisory skills
* Proven problem diagnosis and solving

* Leadership skills

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.

Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.

Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.

Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
